Flying Wingless and Beheaded

Flying Wingless and Beheaded is a contemporary mixed-media art collection created by renowned Iranian artist Ali Reza Ghoojari. The series consists of eight original artworks produced on canvas using the artist’s distinctive fractal technique and expressive visual language.

The collection revolves around a recurring vertical form composed of layered feather-like brushstrokes suspended within vibrant fields of colour. Across the series, this symbolic structure evolves through different elemental states, including Blood, Silence, Marsh, Night, Sea, and Fire.

In the final two large-scale compositions, the abstract forms gradually transform into winged figures, classical forms, and mythological references, extending the narrative beyond physical limitation toward concepts of freedom, transcendence, and spiritual transformation.

Inspired by themes of peace, friendship, human connection, and cultural dialogue, the collection reflects the artist’s long-standing dedication to creating visual experiences that unite contemporary expression with mythological and Eastern artistic influences.
